The Capital District High School Hockey
League (CDHSHL), is Section II of New York State Public High
School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA)
League Record
Total W-L-T record of all CDHSHL Games
Overall Record
Total W-L-T record of all Games- League, Non-League, and Playoffs.
Points
Each Team Must play every other Team in the League at least once.
There are Two (2) Points at stake between any Two (2) Teams in the CDHSHL,
If these Two Teams are scheduled to play each other ONCE, during the
season,
that game is worth:
Two (2) points for a Win,
One (1) point for a Tie and
Zero (0)
points for a Loss.
If these Two Teams are scheduled to play each other TWICE during the
season,
each game is worth:
One (1) point for a Win,
One-Half (1/2) point for a Tie,
Zero (0)
points for a Loss.
If these Two Teams elect to play a THIRD game or a
tournament game it will be considered a
Non-League Game.
There are no points awarded for Non-League Games.
There is a possible Total of (22) Points available. (11) Teams X's (2)
Points each.
Capital District High School Hockey League Champions
The Team with the Highest amount of League Game
Points at the end of the regular season
will be declared the Capital District High School Hockey League
'"Delvecchio Cup" Champions.
Sectional Seedings
(As per Sectional Playoff Realignment- 4/26/10)
Sectional Seedings will be determined by the final regular season League
Standings for each Category- Division I (Large Schools) and
Division II (Small Schools).
Division I (10-Teams)
Play-In Round (#8 vs #9), (#7 vs #10)
Quarter Final Round- (#5 vs #4), (#1 vs #8 or #9), (#2 vs #7 or #10), (#3
vs #6)
Semi Final Round- TBD
Finals- TBP
Division II (2-Teams)
Finals- (#1 vs #2)
Tie-Breakers
(As per CDHSHL Coaches Meetings- 9/02, 2/06)
Should two Teams finish with identical amounts of League Game Points
won, the following Tie Breakers will be used to determine the
Higher Seed.
(Only League Point Bearing games to be used in the following)
1- Head to Head Win/Loss Record.
2- Win/Loss Record versus teams in the League, starting from the top, one team at a time and working down.
3- Fewest Goals Against, versus teams in the League, starting from the top, one team at a time and working
down.
4- Goals For, versus teams in the League,
starting from the top, one team at a time and working down.
5- Coin Toss.
